When a widowed English school teacher, Anna Leonowens, and her 12 year old son, Louis, travel to Siam in the 1860's, they begin the adventure of a lifetime.  Anna must teach the ways of the West to the children of haughty King Mongkut; so that Siam many enter the modern world.

But her task is not easy and her objective is threatened when the King's eldest son, Prince Chulalongkorn, an unruly 12 years old, decides he hates school; he also dislike Louis intensely.

While Anna's relationship with the King deteriorates and the school is closed down, the Prince has a change of heart, and with his pet monkey, Ikki, an unlikely friendship develops with Louis.  Together the youngsters prevent the King from being swindled and most importantly, .....
